Empuriabrava (Ampuriabrava) is a unique coastal town and famous for its impressive marina with as many as 5,000 moorings. The village is traversed by numerous canals on which luxury houses with moorings are located. It is safe to say that this resort is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts.
What is there to do?
The port town of Empuriabrava is not very massive and it offers the discerning vacationer many options. There is a wide sandy beach with a promenade and numerous restaurants and stores, but of course there is also plenty of entertainment for children. Want to know more? Boats and tours
The best way to get to know Empuriabrava is from the water; the canals of Empuriabrava are no less than 35 km long! You can easily book a tour of the canals, but there are also many boat rental companies in the area, in all shapes and sizes, with or without a license.
Beautiful jet ski excursions are also offered to Cap de Creus and Cadaqués, for example, and for daredevils there are exciting rides with Flyboards or a Banana Boat. Parasailing is also possible.
Every Saturday (08:30 to 14:00) there is a big market in Empuriabrava, on the promenade right on the wide beach. Besides fruits and vegetables, all kinds of clothes, handbags, beach stuff and souvenirs are sold. Around the market are many restaurants with terraces for a snack & drink.Parking (free) can be done right by the market.

Tip: In the summer months, an evening market is held daily at the same location with a few booths for selling fun trinkets.
The beach
Empuriabrava has a long wide and soft sandy beach and it slopes slowly into the sea. This is child-friendly and there are plenty of cozy beach bars and restaurants. Next to the main beach there is Playa de la Rubina, a smaller beach but certainly no less fine. It lies in a bay that extends all the way to Santa Margarita. The beach bars are all open until late in the evening with live music and fun. You can park anywhere right on the beach (for free), this is very well organized.
Tip: Part of Rubina beach is dog-friendly.
