In this privacy statement you can read what personal data we collect from you as a customer or user of our websites, how we handle it, what your rights are and with which parties we cooperate. It is important to us that our services are reliable and transparent. We handle your personal data with discretion and care and ensure that we comply with applicable laws and regulations.
2. How Bonvida uses your personal data
This section provides information about the different purposes for which Bonvida processes your personal data, what personal data is involved, what is the legal basis for the use and how long the data is kept.
2.1 Handling your requests or bookings
When you make or request a booking, you must enter your personal data. The mandatory details we require for a booking are your name, date of birth, your address, your email address, your phone number, composition of your travel party, details about the accommodation, period of stay, any special amenities and payment details. Furthermore, there are data optional to add, such as details about your group composition. To comply with Spanish law, we will ask you for your identification type and identification number. We will then provide this information to the Spanish government and do not use it for any other purpose. We process the information you have entered or otherwise provided. By making an inquiry or booking, you are automatically included in our address file. We use your information to communicate the status of your reservation and payment, to make the booking for you, to send you the necessary information about your stay and to send you service messages. If you do not wish to provide your e-mail address when requesting or booking, please book by telephone. The other personal data listed here will still be required. Bonvida processes the aforementioned personal data about you in order to realize your request or booking, so it is necessary for the execution of the agreement between you and Bonvida. We keep the personal data we process in connection with your request or booking for a maximum of 7 years, which is in accordance with statutory retention periods.
2.2 Sending the newsletter
If you have signed up for the newsletter via the website, we will use the e-mail address you have provided to mail you this newsletter. You will then automatically be included in our address file. Also if you have made a booking you will receive our newsletter, unless you indicate that you do not want this. This way we like to keep you informed about interesting offers of our products and services. Sending the newsletter is either to fulfill your subscription, i.e. necessary to execute the resulting agreement between you and Bonvida, or because it is in Bonvida's legitimate interest to be able to inform you about Bonvida's services. Unless your email address is also collected or used for one of the other purposes listed in this privacy statement, we will anonymize your email address immediately after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. If we retain your e-mail address for other purposes, we will of course ensure that you no longer receive the newsletter.
2.3 Answering your questions or complaints and service mails.
Questions in connection with your booking, request or other comments or complaints can be emailed to us, asked via chat or communicated to us by phone (and also via Whatsapp). In that case, we use your personal data to handle your questions, to be able to contact you again and to take other necessary action in connection with your complaint or request. We record at what times we were in contact with you through which channel, the reason for the contact and the corresponding content of what was discussed or emails exchanged. If you are not already in our address file, customer service may record your inquiry and contact information so that customer service can better serve you and to handle any future inquiries or bookings more efficiently. If you did not complete an online booking, we may contact you to remind you of the uncompleted booking, to ask if something went wrong or to point you to possibly other properties you may be interested in instead. These data are necessary to execute the agreement with you or these are in Bonvida's legitimate interest to serve you even better. The data that customer service stores from you will be kept for 7 years.
2.4 Data about your visit to and use of the Bonvida website
When you visit our website, some of your data is automatically recorded on our server, such as which web pages you visit, from which country you visit our website, the name of your computer system and type of internet browser. This data is stored completely anonymously and cannot be traced back to you.
Your information about your bookings and our communications with you, may be combined by Bonvida. This information enables Bonvida to undertake various forms of marketing, such as via email (newsletter), addressed mail , and to make the information sent or displayed as relevant and interesting to you as possible. We measure the effectiveness of all our campaigns. You always have the option to unsubscribe from the newsletter, to indicate that you do not wish to receive commercial mail from us and you can also object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. The use of all this data is necessary for Bonvida in the context of its legitimate interest to be able to inform website visitors and customers about new products and services and in order to acquire more customers, retain customers and increase the volume of bookings.
2.6 Participation in contests or other promotions.
We also use personal data when you participate in contests or promotions that we organize. For this purpose, we process your name and email address in order to evaluate your entry and to communicate with you when you have won a prize. Some contests have additional rules about our use of your personal data. Our processing of personal data for this purpose is necessary in the performance of our agreement with you.
2.7 Website maintenance and optimization.
Your personal data are further used to analyze the use of our website and related technologies, to maintain it, to resolve any malfunctions, to improve its availability and to secure it against fraud (for example, if multiple attempts are made to make a booking, or if a booking is made in violation of our terms and conditions).
2.8 Guest reviews
After staying in a vacation home rented through Bonvida, you can post a review on our website. This review is visible to all website visitors. You are asked to add your full name, but at least your first name, and your place of residence to the review as this information greatly increases the reliability of the review. We advise you to be careful not to include any other personal information in the review. The posting of a review is based on your consent. Bonvida also incidentally reserves the right to reject reviews at its discretion and without giving any reason. You can also always request us to remove your review again, via the contact page. Reviews may also be used in other marketing communications from Bonvida. We may share the review with partners who also rent the house in question. This means that your review may also be visible on other websites.
3. Social Media
You may choose to share information from our website via social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google and YouTube. This means that the information shared, including name and interests, may become visible to visitors to your personal pages. Bonvida recommends that you carefully read the privacy statements of the relevant social media parties. This is because these apply to the processing of your personal data by these parties.
5. Retention period
We retain your data for as long as necessary for the aforementioned purposes or to comply with legal (retention) obligations. This Privacy Statement sets out the various retention periods used by Bonvida. After the end of the retention period, we will delete or anonymize your personal data. You will of course then also no longer receive information from Bonvida about new houses or other interesting mailings.
6. Third parties
We will share your personal data with third parties only when necessary:
- as part of the provision of a service by this third party that we need to fulfill your request or booking such as IT service providers, product providers (e.g. partners who rent houses through us) and service partners. (e.g. key managers)
- in case you are renting a vacation home in Spain then, in order to comply with Spanish legislation, we share your ID type and number with the Spanish government. (if we have received this from you)
- to carry out your request for a booking, this is how we transfer your personal data to the relevant homeowner. Homeowners must also comply with applicable privacy laws when using your personal data. In addition, they are contractually obligated to Bonvida to keep and use your personal data with care.
- To settle your payment for the rented vacation rental and other expenses.
Most of these third parties are processors and only use your personal data for the benefit of Bonvida. These parties are mainly located in the Netherlands or within the EU. Bonvida only provides personal data to parties that guarantee that they have taken the required measures to adequately protect the data. A processor agreement is concluded with processors which, among other things, regulates the confidentiality and security of your personal data by these third parties.
Only when Bonvida is required by law to do so will personal data be provided to supervisory, investigative and tax authorities. Please note that some of these services may have far-reaching powers, which they can use to enforce such disclosures.
Bonvida considers proper security of your personal data to be of great importance. Bonvida has therefore taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure personal data against unauthorized or otherwise undesired access. This is visible to you, among other things, by the lock that appears in your browser when making a booking. Employees of Bonvida or third parties engaged by Bonvida will also only be given access to those personal data necessary for the performance of their duties. We regularly provide our website with automated security scans and take adequate measures to protect our systems from unauthorized access.
8. Your rights with respect to your personal data
You have the right to access your complete data, as registered with Bonvida, and to amend (or have amended) it, if it is incorrect or incomplete. Furthermore, under circumstances you have the right to have your personal data deleted or restricted by Bonvida, and the right to ask Bonvida to disclose your personal data to yourself or to a third party. If required, Bonvida may send a written copy of your data. Furthermore, for reasons related to your specific situation, you may object to our processing of your personal data, in particular when it is processed in the legitimate interest of Bonvida (as indicated in this privacy statement).
