Monastery Sant Pere de Rodes

Culture in Cap de Creus

In the middle of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, with impressive views of the bay of El Port de la Selva and Llança, lies the former monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. With good reason, this is one of the most important Romanesque structures in Spain. The building complex (now partly a ruin) dates from the 11th century and is located about 520 meters above sea level. Two prominent towers flank the monastery's former conversation hall, and the bell tower has Lombard style features.
